Kizomba Artist Atushe EXPOSED!

By Annelien P. van Wyk

annelien@exposenewspaper.com

Effervescent John Atushe Namweya is known by most music fans as a Kizomba and Gospel Artist who does live performances, but truth be told, the versatile singer is also a Songwriter, Gym Instructor and now Model of the Namibian Men Calendar 2010.

Atushe, as known by many Namibians, is sharp, yet chary and attentive to your words. When you first meet him, you can’t help to think: “What a gentleman!”

Being in the Music Industry for the past seven years has taught multi-talented Atushe that you can make the best of whatever you put your mind to and that is his message to the young, upcoming and struggling artists.

“Know that Music is your passion and be really passionate about what you want to achieve, then put your all into it, it’s tough, but it’s worthy” says Atushe.

The Tsumeb born singer released his first album “Ounyuni Wonena”, which means The World of Today in Oshiwambo, in 2005, his second album “Credit for My Promise” was released in 2006 while his third album, “Tangi” was released in 2008. Atushe says his 2010 release “Moments of Truth” is due in November this year.

The public voted the video “Ounyuni Wonena” , released in 2003 as best Music Video in 2004 during the Sanlam NBC Awards.

Atushe describes himself as strong-willed with a great sense of believe on which his faith is built. He gets his inspiration from real life experiences and happenings of every day life. His motto in life is to appreciate life, be content with yourself and your situation and value the people around you, while respecting your fans.

When asked why he auditioned for the Namibian Men Calendar 2010, Atushe said that apart from having the body the organizers was looking for, the theme, “Real Men Don’t Hit Women” inspired him to partake, because he strongly believe that hitting a woman is wrong and should be condemned in the strongest possible sense.

Atushe, who do not have a manager, sells his albums through Radio Interviews; fans can also get his music at Universal Sound. Alternatively they can contact him directly at 0812163414 or email him at atushen@gmail.com
